Easy to operate and excellent splice repeatability

     All-in-one

Control unit  |  Air  Compressor  |  Cooling
     -  Air  cooled
     -  Fast and completely automatic process
     -  Very light and easy to carry

Perfect model to splice on site, avoiding additional items such as control boxes, cooling tanks or hoses. By means  of this concept, the splice is made easier and in a more comfortable way . The joint cycles are really fast.

The Portable two controllers. One for adjustment of temperature and time and one for setting the pressure generated by the built-in compressor. The material/splice specific pressure and temperature values are easily set and the splicing operation itself is fully automatic. The temperature controller has a scrolling display which navigates the user through the settings in clear text messages. With two quick-clamping bars it is easy to position and fasten the material in the press. The clamping bars ensure that the material remains in position until the upper beam is clamped in place.

Temperature control and cooling. With the Aero press, the user can achieve different splice temperatures for the upper and lower platen or use a single temperature for both platens. This function makes it easy to obtain improved splice results for belts with an asymmetric construction, or those with very thin thermoplastic coatings.Unique programming features enable a more precise setting of the dwell time (down to seconds), an automatic dwell time countdown, and a preheating cycle. A controlled, stepped/preheating will provide better splice results with thicker or less heat conducting belt materials.

The splice platens have integrated cool zones on both sides of the heating zone. This will result in ultra smooth splices even for the most difficult belt materials. No inlays of glass fibre or metal are used which may cause pressure differences. This design results in :

     - No sinking of the hot splice plates into the molten belt material

     - No bumps next to the splice

     - Less shrinkage of the fingers

     - Diminished shiny transition lines

With conventional systems, these malformations are often difficult to control, requiring process adjustments, trial runs, and a lot of craftsmanship. However, the Aero can be operated with minimal training, generating repeatable, high quality splices time after time

Introduction to the Portable Splice Press

The Portable splice press is an all-in-one solution for splicing thermoplastic conveyor belts (e.g. PVC, polyurethane).
No external control box, air pump, or water cooling tank are required.
The Portable presses are provided with electric heating and built in air cooling. The splice process runs fully automated.

Air cooling (2).png

- Splice pressure is applied by an internal compressor, max. 2 bar (28psi)
- Heats up to a splice temperature of max. 200°C (392°F)
- Keeps it at the splice temperature (adjustable dwell time)
- Cools down to the cooling temperature (safe temperature to take the belt out)
- For thicker belts a preheat temperature and preheat dwell time can be applied
- The bottom heating can be set lower or higher than the top heating

Introduction to the Portable Splice Press

If the belt is relatively thick a problem might occur where the outside of the belt is at the splicing temperature too long, waiting for the inside to reach the required temperature. Melted material might flow away or discolor and fabrics might shrink. To avoid this problem, the preheat option can be used. This option  heats the  belt up (outside and inside) to a temperature just  below the melting temperature. After the preheat stage, the inside splice temperature can be reached much quicker, minimizing the risk for unwanted flow of material, discoloring or fabric shrinkage.

The reading of the display relates to the top temperature of the press. If more or less heat is required at the bottom of the belt, the “bottom heat factor” can be used. Please note that this factor relates to a plus or minus amount of heat (%), not to a specific temperature.

The portable splice press is available in five different models ranging in width from 12" (300 mm) to 60" (1500 mm).
The unit operates on most common voltages. The portable splice press can be used for splicing thermoplastic belt

materials up to a maximum 60" (1500 mm) depending on the model.
